The European Commission has selected six research projects — in areas from health and energy to artificial intelligence and cultural heritage — to compete to become one of its next European large scale research initiatives.
Two proposals have been funded with €1 million to define a research roadmap in the key area of environment, climate and energy:
- Sunrise seeks to improve the efficiency of solar-energy technologies by exploiting raw materials abundant in the atmosphere developing artificial photosynthesis processes.
- ENERGY-X looks at  the efficient conversion of solar and wind energy into chemical forms.
Both of them are perfectly aligned with A-LEAF vision and both of them include A-LEAF partners in their consortia.
